Dr. Simon is chief of heart and lung center, thoracic surgery Helsinki University Hospital. He is professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at University of Helsinki and professor of science specializes in minimally invasive surgery in esophageal cancer, including robot assisted surgical operation and also in lung cancer surgery. His research interests also include precancerous conditions in the esophagus and stomach, Barrett's esophagus, and the outcomes of treatment of esophageal and lung cancers. He also studies the importance of oxidative stress in the formation of esophageal cancer. Professor Simon published over 150 research articles on esophageal and lung cancer in peer reviewed medical journals. He represents Finland in the European Union of medical specialists, Dr. Simon Hello, and welcome.
